Mieke C. Schuijt

Mieke Schuijt is involved with every facet of personal and family law. Thanks to the experience she has gained both inside and outside the legal profession, Mieke is now a strongly analytical and result-oriented lawyer. She has an outstanding sense of empathy and a clear view of the interests of all relevant parties.

Mieke obtained her Master’s degree in Juvenile Law from Leiden University in early 2014. In the summer of the same year, she completed a second Master’s degree at the University of Amsterdam. Mieke started working as a lawyer in Haarlem in 2015. In 2019, she moved to science and she was employed as a lecturer in Private Law at Utrecht University. She lectured there with a focus on family law, juvenile law, and procedural law. However, her heart lies in the legal profession, to which she returned on 1 February 2022.

Since May 2023, Mieke has been a candidate-member of the ‘Nederlandse Vereniging van Familie- en erfrecht Advocaten Scheidingsmediators’ (vFAS).

Mieke Schuijt has a listing in the Netherlands Bar register for the following principal and secondary fields of law:

  • Personal and family law (divorce, maintenance, visitation rights, youth protection law, parentage, and legitimation)

A condition of her registration is that, every calendar year, she is required to obtain ten study credits for each of the main fields of law for which she is listed, in accordance with the standards of the Netherlands Bar.
