Loes J.H. Gijbels
Loes Gijbels offers individual coaching processes in her capacity as a PRI therapist in training. She has been following a training course in this field at PRI International since 2012.
Loes Gijbels worked for many years as a family lawyer and mediator. She earned her spurs as a lawyer and mediator. She was one of the first divorce mediators and is the co-founder of the Association of Divorce Mediation Lawyers (VAS), currently known as the Association of Family Lawyers and Divorce Mediators (vFAS). In 2003, she was made an honorary member of this association.
As a lawyer and mediator, she has given countless courses, lectures, guest lectures and workshops. She also has many publications to her name.
Since 1998, she has ranked first on various lists of leading family lawyers and in September 2006, she won the Sonja Boekman award for the most prominent female lawyer.
After working for almost 30 years in the field of divorce and other family problems, Loes Gijbels began training as a coach in 2006 at the Utrecht University School of Governance (USG). This course was followed by the training course as a PRI therapist in January 2012.
The reason for the switch was that over the years, she became increasingly interested in the reasons for the behaviour of the people that she served as a lawyer or divorce mediator. Where did the anger, the misery, the sense of abandonment come from? And what ultimately drives apart people who originally chose each other ‘until death us do part’? What are the invisible mechanisms that lead to anxiety, depression, anger, sorrow and often to destructive behaviour?
Loes Gijbels now works as a coach and PRI therapist. She assists people who are ‘not comfortable in their own skin’. The people that she coaches may suffer from depression, for example, or anxiety, addictions, frequent changes of opinion or poor relationships with people in their direct environment. This may result in problems at work or problems with children, their partners or other people. PRI therapy is a tried and tested method for bringing underlying (unconscious) problems to light and for coping with these.
