Paul N.M. de Gier
Paul de Gier mediates, negotiates and litigates in divorce cases and all other related cases such as asset distribution, maintenance, contact arrangements, etc. His practice almost exclusively comprises business owners and a large number of (former) top athletes. Paul graduated from Erasmus University Rotterdam in 1992. After his graduation, he taught law at the HEAO (school for higher education in economics and management) in Breda for a number of years. He then entered the legal profession and worked for Haans Beijsens in Bergen op Zoom, followed by his affiliation with the Private Clients section of the renowned NautaDutilh firm. In 2005, Paul co-founded SmeetsGijbels.
Paul is a member of the Association of Family Lawyers and Divorce Mediators (vFAS) and was a board member for this professional association for a good number of years. Paul is a member of the Board of Representatives of the Netherlands Bar Association for the Rotterdam court district. He also gives regular lectures and has given various workshops for, among others, the Licent Academy Financial Planners, Elsevier, Kluwer and NME. In addition, Paul regularly writes for the media and professional journals for lawyers, business owners and accountants, as well as regularly appearing on TV and the radio as an expert.
